Flat Stanley would like to thank the Academy! Flat Stanley, who, from here on out, prefers to be known ECO-Flat Stanley, was so inspired by all that theAcademy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, with the help of NRDC , has done in recent years to green the Academy Awards that he, too, decided the only way to attend the Oscars is to attend them in an environmentally-friendly way.
So, in respect to the Earth and its global inhabitants, Eco-Flat Stanley walked the Red Carpet at the Academy Awards’ Kodak Theater in Hollywood this year and took Greening Hollywood with him. The February EcoPreneur Salon OSCAR Week Native Plant Garden Retreat was presented by Greening Hollywood’s Paige Donner and co-hosted by Paul Mitchell’s Veronika Judish with the support of Lisa Novick of the Theodore Payne Foundation. Veronika Judish gifted all EcoPreneurs with a line of Tea Tree Hair Products by Paul Mitchell which is their new all natural hair care line. Novick gifted Ecopreneurs with a lecture on native plants and a tour of the Theodore Payne native plant garden pointing out California lilacs, sages, bay leaf trees and other (fragrant) native plant species.

Eco-Flat Stanley learned a lot about native plant gardens from the lecture – especially about how important it is for insects to be allowed to have something to eat, that is, their native plants, so that they in turn will attract birds and butterflies. Eco-Flat Stanley felt rejuvenated by his day in nature and loved the company of his EcoPreneur Salon friends, especially the littlest of the Treehuggers there.
Lunch was provided by EcoPreneurs and M Cafe, the all natural and all organic Cafes in Hollywood, Culver City and now newly opened in Beverly Hills on Brighton Way.
Drinks were generously provided to Ecopreneurs by Adina, Steaz and Izze. Adina and Steaz are both organic and fair trade and they make coffee drinks, green tea drinks and juices. Izze makes sparkling juice drinks. RideAmigos helped out with carpooling and ride sharing.
On Friday, Eco-Flat Stanley was invited to a few Pre-Oscar Parties for the Nominees. Eco-Flat Stanley had a really great time at Haven sponsored by Russell Simmons, Entertainment Fusion Group and Leader Enterprises which was at a posh Beverly Hills house that featured cascading waterfalls.
Eco-Flat Stanley got to meet Liz McCartney, CNN’s Hero of the Year, who founded a program called the St. Bernard Project which is helping to re-build homes down in New Orleans. He also saw Rosario Dawson and Queen Latifah there! He was so star-struck by these gorgeous gals that he forgot to put himself in the pictures he snapped!

He really appreciated when Bandals President Thomas Sesti recalled seeing him up on Treasure Island in the Bay Area last.
